How can you help?
If you see a cat you think is a stray don't wait till weeks have passed by before alerting us to it. Anything can happen in the timescale. Try and get a good photo, see if it will let you get near it and touch it but be careful as it might feel threatened and lash out, approach slowly, quietly and try to be at its level to reassure it.
Please note not all cats are feral or stray but they all deserve help and we help both feral and strays!
If you see kittens DON'T go straight over and pick them up! You risk not only them being abandoned by Mum but also the possibility of them dying due to that.
Watch for a couple of hours to see if Mum comes back. She may well be in the middle of moving her kittens and she will leave them in a place that they will not stray from.
If you think they might be under threat of danger ie close to road side ... use gloves so your scent isn't left and move them just a few feet over so they are still in vicinity but out of immediate danger.
If this is a feral Mum, ideally, we want to trap Mum as well as catch the kittens.
Please get in touch immediately so we can help.
